You know someone. We all do. You know someone that has declared their own personal war against addiction. Worse yet, addiction has accepted the challenge and is taking the fight to them. To you. To our community. You’ve seen the news. You read the paper. You know that there is an “epidemic” and you hear terms like “methadone, suboxone, fentanyl, Narcan…overdose”. At this point, you’ve probably developed your own opinion about addiction and have thoughts on how an individual, a community, maybe even the country can win the battle. I’m not going to tell you you’re wrong. Shoot, if we had the solution, we wouldn’t be in this mess, right? We’d be organizing a parade in D.C., along with one down the Avenue.
What I am going to tell you is that you’re not right. Not 100%, anyway.
