Innovative Idea Leads to New Partnership

by Brian Coonan | Mar 29, 2018
2Hi folks - I wanted to update you on a pretty cool partnership we finalized in the Bristol/Plymouth county area.

Through a COCA with PAACA (Positive Action Against Chemical Addiction) and High Point Treatment Centers, we are now able to provide fluid transportation and patient transition from home to methadone to Suboxone.  PAACA has DPH-funded vans driven by recovery coaches.  We offered and they accepted a plan to pick up our patients each morning and transport them to appointments (in lieu of cab vouchers) in both Bristol and Plymouth counties.

High Point is also on board, offering methadone to patients who may meet that treatment level of care.  Both sites have also offered their locations for group spaces, providing transportation from home or CSC to their locations for groups.

This currently covers six towns.

We'll continue to monitor the progress of these relationship-systems, but I think that having patients transported consistently to appointments by peers in recovery will be a positive offer for our program.

Happy Friday!

Best,
Brian Coonan and Megan Abdullahi
