Anderson, IN Medical Assistant Shares Seeds of Hope

by Carol Fite Lynn | Mar 13, 2019

Susan Poole, a Medical Assistant from Anderson Indiana launched an innovative new program at her center to help patients along their journey to recovery. She started a "Seeds for Hope" program. Susan Poole

It all started with one plant. Susan received requests from many patients asking her to give them "starts" of the plant so they could grow their own. Gardening and nurturing plants has become a constant topic of conversation among patients and staff in the Anderson center. The patients often chat with Susan about gardening and keep her apprised on how their plants are doing.

"I think the patients think if they can nurture the plants a little bit and get them going, maybe they can nurture themselves too," said Susan.

For Good Friday, the Anderson office plans to provide a few snacks and both vegetable and flower seed packets for all patients to keep the "seeds of hope" program going.

"Thoughtful initiatives created by our amazing team members make my heart sing everyday," said Rachael Morones, Center Manager of the Anderson center. "We are so proud to shine the light on Susan and the kindness she deposits in the lives of our patients everyday."

Special thanks to Rachael Thompson for sharing this inspiring initiative with us. Please share the innovative patient programs happening at your program by sending them to warriorsforhope@cleanslatecenters.com.
