In 2000, Ohio reported 411 fatal, unintentional drug overdoses. By 2017, that number grew to 4,854 deaths: a 1,081% increase.
Montgomery County is overwhelmed. The epidemic is not only impacting individuals struggling with addiction – it’s affecting loved ones and the community at large. Prison populations are steadily increasing due to drug-related offenses. In fact, 35% of all charges against women in the last 10 years were drug-related. And 70% of children in Ohio welfare programs have opioid-involved parents.
CleanSlate’s new North Dayton center, located at 6929 N. Main St., is prepared to bring relief to patients suffering from addiction using the highest quality, evidence-based practices for drug rehab and alcohol treatment. CleanSlate combines medication-assisted treatment, approved by the FDA as a safe and effective treatment option, with behavioral therapy to treat substance use disorders. The center also offers additional medical services such as vaccinations, lab services and medical detoxification.
“Addiction treatment is crucial to the health and safety of our communities because we’re not simply treating one addicted person – we’re impacting their spouse, children, extended family, neighbors and coworkers,” said Nikki Nemeth, center manager for CleanSlate North Dayton. “We want to see Montgomery County thrive. That’s why CleanSlate is here. Addiction is a disease that can be treated, and we’re ready to support those seeking help.”
CleanSlate was founded in 2009 in response to the country’s growing opioid epidemic. Over the past decade, the company has treated more than 53,000 patients in 11 states. CleanSlate operates six other centers in Ohio.
