CleanSlate Center in North Adams, Massachusetts, is Meeting Patients Where They Are

Massachusetts has the seventh-highest rate of opioid-related overdoses in the United States. The Massachusetts Department of Health recently reported the deadly synthetic opioid fentanyl was found in nine out of every 10 opioid-related deaths in 2018. Additionally, 4.6% of all state residents over the age of 11—about 275,000 people— had an opioid use disorder in 2015, according to research published in the American Journal of Public Health.

Community Health Programs, a Federally Qualified Health Center that receives funds from the Health Resources and Services Administration Health Center Program, recently approached CleanSlate about opening a center in Berkshire County to help combat these harrowing statistics.

Making Strides Against Opioid Addiction in Warren County, Kentucky

The opioid crisis continues to hit hard in the Bluegrass state. In 2017, Kentucky outpaced the national average rate of opioid-involved deaths by almost double. That same year, drug overdose deaths caused by synthetic opioids increased more than tenfold climbing from 76 to 780 in just a four-year period. Most recently, a 2019 study ranked the state fifth for most overdose deaths per capita.

Wilkes-Barre, PA - CleanSlate Centers, a national leader in outpatient addiction medicine, has expanded its busy treatment center in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, by relocating to a larger location, at 100 North Wilkes-Barre Blvd., Suite 103. The move is a response to the high demand for medication-assisted treatment services by CleanSlate, which has been a fixture in Wilkes-Barre for the past three years.

CleanSlate’s Wilkes-Barre center, which was declared by Governor Wolf to be a Pennsylvania Center of Excellence, is the second busiest of CleanSlate’s 52 outpatient treatment centers throughout the country. With more than 800 patients under its care and 2000 patient visits each month, CleanSlate Wilkes-Barre was bursting at the seams of its former location.
